Arctotis arctoides is a hardy, mat forming ground cover with lovely matt green leaves with wavy margins that have white felted undersides. From September to March.
It bears small, yellow, daisy-like flowers with purplish undersides on white velvety stalks. Seeds are small and cylindrical, with a plume of bristles that catch the wind to disperse them.
Plant in full sun in a well-watered position as in its natural habitat it grows mainly in marshy areas.
Plant between stepping stones or rocks to great effect. Useful for covering banks and large areas.
