About Random Harvest

Random Harvest is all that reminds you of what life should be like in a perfect world.  The positive energy that surrounds the people, plants and creatures is tangible – a testament to conservation orientated living and a dedication to nature and the environment’s well-being.

Owned by Linda De Luca, Random Harvest Indigenous Nursery and Farm started out in business in 1990. Linda’s vision was to turn Johannesburg into a giant nature reserve… one garden at a time! Today,  the various businesses on the property are all built around providing excellent service to our customers:

Indigenous Plant Nursery

At the very core of who Random Harvest Indigenous Nursery is, lies the vast variety of indigenous plants that we grow. It is true that they are the livelihood of many who work here, but that is not why we grow them. We grow these plants out of a deep conviction that gardeners all over the country play a vital role in supporting the wildlife in and around our cities and the diminishing wild areas.

We want nothing more than to inspire people to turn their gardens into beautiful, restorative, indigenous havens for themselves and the wildlife around them.

Retail Plant Nursery

We grow and sell plants indigenous to South Africa, herbs and a few seasonal vegetables to the general public.

Wholesale Plant Nursery

Our busy wholesale department serves a wide variety of landscapers, landscape architects, Institutions (Universities etc), plant brokers and other nurseries.

Bed and Breakfast Cottages

Ideally situated on the Cradle of Humankind wedding mile, our award-winning guest farm accommodation keeps our customers coming back to this countryside gem.  If you live in Gauteng, enjoy all the benefits of a holiday without the expense of travelling many kilometres.

Tea Garden

Homemade, fresh, wholesome food, best filter coffee, tea and scones make our tea garden the venue of choice for tea with a friend, a business meeting or special occasion.

Conference and Meeting venue

A wide range of clients make use of our conference room and boma, which seats up to 35 people. Overnight accommodation for conference delegates can house up to 21 people.

Shop

A small shop with many carefully selected items, that are either hand made or speak to sustainability is a pleasure to browse in. We also sell a limited but excellent range of garden products that are kind to the earth.

Our mission is to inspire people to

turn their gardens into beautiful,

restorative, indigenous havens for

themselves and the wildlife around them
