Description

Sporobolus stapfianus is a short, fine, tufted grass with beautifully rolled leaves. The curly leaves look pretty in winter. When in flower (from November to March), the tiny and numerous florets on the delicate and much-branched flowering stem almost creates a misty look.

Due to its size, it is an ideal grass for a small, compact rockery, where it can be interplanted with perennials. Also a beautiful grass for the front, low-growing section of a flowering meadow or grassland garden. Ideal for interplanting amongst shorter grassland plants. Either leave the attractive, curly leaves through winter or cut them back. Needs cutting back however, before the new season's growth starts.

Size: up to 30cm

Wildlife
