This rare, deciduous perennial bulb is free flowering and carries light to dark blue flowers on a short stem from January to February. The flowers attract butterflies, are pollinated by birds and provide food for honeybees. It also come in a white variety. The flowers make good cut flowers that lasts long.
It is a good garden subject and make a good container plant. Great plant for a grassland garden between rocks.
