This attractive, drought resistant aloe is adapted to a wide range of conditions, and has an erect stem of 2 m (can be up to 4m). The leaves have a grey-green surface with the small, reddish teeth around the margins and are spreading and recurved.
The flowers characteristically curve upwards and are bright yellow and orange. The flowers are borne from July to September and are pollinated by Sunbirds. The nectar is an important food source for honey bees. The winged seeds are dispersed by the wind from the dehiscing capsules.
This aloe is a spectacular garden plant for frost free areas and shouldnt be overwatered. It is an amazing feature plant for the garden in full sun, grows in sandy or loam soil and it can be planted in containers as well.
