This solitary, stemless aloe with rosettes of more than 1m in diameter have glossy green leaves with dull white spots that form transverse bands across the leaf, and the leaf margins have pronounced spreading brown teeth.
The robust inflorescence is much-branched, rather sparsely flowered and can be almost 3 m tall. The dull red flowers are borne in February and March.
This is a beautiful feature plant for either a rockery or succulent garden and is very attractive in a grassland garden.
