Botanical Art Exhibition by Gillian Condy at Random Harvest Indigenous Nursery

My love for South African Indigenous Plants goes much further than just the plants in the soil.

I get so excited when I see botanical artwork that not only captures the likeness of the plant, but the essence of it too. Gillian Condy’s beautiful botanical paintings do just that.

We are delighted that Gillian will be exhibiting some of her botanical watercolours and prints at Random Harvest Indigenous Plant Nursery, from Saturday the 2nd of April until the end of the month.  We are open from 8am to 5pm daily.

This is a great opportunity to view and purchase this internationally recognised botanical artist's work, which is renowned for its amazing richness of colour and detail.

Working predominantly in watercolours, Gillian Condy has, amongst other works, completed over 200 plates for Flowering Plants of Africa, illustrated two books by Charles Craib - Geophytic Pelargoniums (2001) and Grass Aloes in the South African Veld (2005).  She has also illustrated 13 sets of postage stamps for Botswana.

Gillian trained in the United Kingdom, as a natural history illustrator and completed her Master of Arts degree from the Royal College of Arts. In 1983 Gillian became the official botanical artist for SANBI, and has received a number of awards for her beautiful artworks.  She regularly runs art courses for SANBI and BAASA (Botanical Artists Association of Southern Africa).
